No I cannot count the ways you have made my life so blessed All I know is that you came and made beauty of my mess
And you make me happy You make me feel the way I do You make me happy I want to make You happy too. Lyrics by Ayiesha Woods, "Happy."
I have more from this session, in front of the window again.

Do NOT use my photos! You do NOT have my permission. I do allow features, dA thumbs, etc. If used for anything else, please let me know and always include credits with a link back to my dA! Thanks!
The picture looks good, but I think you should sharpen it it a litte bit. Also your older pictures, they all look a bit blurry. The compression could be the problem. I hope you don't mind me criticizing your pictures =/.
I actually did say "Critique Not Desired', mainly for that reason that the picture lost quality. The truth about this one is that due to my movement and the lighting, it came out a bit on the blurry side. This one would fall more under motion blur. And so that means, "Why show it on dA?" Right? But I liked it anyway, and after post-processing, I figured it still had some type of meaning and art into it (the smile, mainly)...
But yes, I do realize. And thank you! The lens I have is hard to focus when you're doing self portraits. I simply guess where to stand hoping I'm in focus.
And also I might have to start cleaning my lens because that could also be a problem! I don't have a lens cleaner, even though they're really cheap online! But I have used cotton balls, or anything without lent on it.
I've been sharing just random photos it seems.. I guess I haven't gone all out or anything.
But.. hopefully I'll get a new lens someday this year.. who knows! ^^
Oh, I didn't know that the pictures have been self portraits. ^^ Then it wasn't your fault . I know how hard it is to take selfs that are perfect in focus. I thought you took the pictures with the camera in your hand and your lens had simply a front- or backfocus and therefore the pictures aren't that sharp. If you take self portraits, you should use an aperture about 8-11 so that you have a bigger DOF. (I hope you understand what I want to say. My english has become very bad since I finished school)
No, no, you are simply helping out! It's what photographers do! And I thank you.
But yes, they have been self portraits.
I LOVE blurry backgrounds (huge apertures) so I like keeping it at f1.8... But yeah.. Sometimes I try to change! Haha.. Eventually I'll get better. I might even master focusing someday with such small DOF.
It's just when lighting is cheap, I keep it big..
Pretty much most of the pictures with me in it I set the camera up and focused on something I'd stand next to..
I read in your profile that you're using the digital rebell xt. for this model you can get very cheap (wireless) remote controls this could help you focusing on you self-portraits . you should give it a try .
By the way, I also love blurry backgrounds and bokeh ^^ and I also have the 50 f1.8 . But I don't use it that often anymore because of my new Tamron 28-75 f2.8. It has an even more beautiful bokeh and it's not that expensive, just in case you're thinking about a new lens. ;D
I like this pic! Lovely! I don't use a lens cleaner; just a strong blower and a lens brush. That should be adaquite unless you touch your lens with you fingers!
