I always shoot in RAW. The resolution is better, and you can do tons of edits without affecting the original file. Photoshop Lightroom 2 is great for RAW. It's just a better way to go.

The little things you can do when you open up a RAW file is sorta fun.
Although I never save over Originals when I work in JPEG, so it doesn't make a difference in worrying about affecting an original. But yeah..... hehe.
